A 8-week live online course

Are you the mindfully present parent you want to be?

The 8-week Mindful Parenting Course is your opportunity to strengthen your inner resources as a parent.

Parenting can be immensely rewarding and nourishing, but it can also be stressful, involving a non-stop stream of changing emotions.

As parents, we often find ourselves reacting reflexively, especially during challenging moments.

You're Not Alone!

But what if we could learn to slow down, respond with greater awareness, and fully appreciate precious moments with our families?

That’s what Mindful Parenting is about!

What Is Mindful Parenting?

The 8-week course Mindful Parenting was originally developed by Prof. Susan Bögels at the University of Amsterdam. It is based on the proven effective mindfulness trainings of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

At the heart of this course lies mindfulness training. Mindfulness is clear, non-judgmental awareness that allows us to perceive and accept all experiences—whether pleasant or unpleasant—with curiosity and kindness.

As parents, this means for example:

Or, based on the definition of Jon Kabat-Zinn:

Mindful parenting is not a fixed destination; it’s an ongoing, creative journey. It invites us to intentionally cultivate non-judgmental awareness in every moment. This awareness extends to both our inner world—our thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations—and the outer world of our children, family, home, and broader cultural context.

How Mindfulness Helps with Parenting Stress

As mindful parents, we can develop:

  1. Deep Awareness: We attune to our child’s unique nature, feelings, and needs. This sensitivity allows us to respond with empathy and understanding.
  2. Present Listening: We learn to truly listen, giving our full attention to our children. In doing so, we create a space for authentic connection.
  3. Radical Acceptance: We embrace things as they are, whether pleasant or challenging. This acceptance frees us from unnecessary struggle and allows us to meet each moment with grace.
  4. Skillful Responses: Recognising our own reactive impulses, we choose to respond imaginatively and with kindness. This clarity helps us navigate parenting challenges more effectively.
Remember, mindful parenting isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. By weaving mindfulness into our parenting, we create a nurturing environment for both ourselves and our children.
